Rambutan – fruta exótica rica em vitamina e minerais
O rambutan (Rambutão ou rambutã) é uma fruta exótica originaria do sudeste asiático também conhecida como Delícia do Pacífico. É semelhante à Lichia tanto na aparência como no paladar, pois pertencem a mesma família Sapindaceae.
Os frutos são maiores que os da Lichia, suas sementes são menores, possuem casca firme cobertas com pelúcia macia e coloração vermelho carmim. Sua polpa é doce, pouco ácida semelhante à uva podendo ser utilizada em conservas e sucos, aceita também congelamento mantendo as características originais.
O Rambutan é rico em vitamina C, carboidratos, proteínas, cálcio, fósforo, potássio, ferro e niacina. Sua polpa é doce e pouco ácida, semelhante a polpa da uva. O extrato da raiz é utilizado para tratar febre e das folhas para aliviar as dores de cabeça.
A fruta pode ser armazenada na geladeira por até duas semanas e pode ser encontrada no Sacolão Real.
